A Michelin French Restaurant in Los Angeles Worth Revisiting

This restaurant, Manzke, is so far the best restaurant I've eaten at this year! I've been to quite a few fine dining establishments, but the service at Manzke ranks definitely in the top three!

✅Tasting Menu

Weekly $265/person
Weekend $295/person
Wine Pairing
💰Normal $165
Reserve $295
I chose the $295 vintage wine list this time. Most are European wines, and the chef has chosen many wines from female winemakers, which I really appreciate.

✅Potato Chip

The potato chips are a bit oily but surprisingly appetizing when paired with caviar and Greek yogurt cucumber sauce.

✅Tostada

The chef lived in San Diego as a child and often went there with his family. This dish is a beautiful fusion of his childhood memories. The bluefin tuna paired with salsa fresca is incredibly refreshing, and when served with a margarita, it feels like basking on a sunny beach in Mexico in just one second.

✅New Zealand Sea Bream

This sea bream sashimi is paired with sake – the wine is light with a refreshing aftertaste that goes very well with fresh sashimi.

✅Kaluga Caviar & Laminated Brioche

I would come back just for this bread alone. The crust is incredibly crispy, while the inside is soft and aromatic! This dish is perfectly paired with "Rolls-Royce of Champagne" Krug – luscious bread + caviar + Champagne, total perfect score of 100.

✅Dungeness Crab

The chef paired this Thai curry crab with a sweeter Riesling to balance the spicy flavors.

✅Santa Barbara Red Abalone

The abalone has firm texture, and the chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg) tasted light yet dense in texture. The white wine served has a body but won't overpower the taste of the egg itself.

✅Nova Scotia Halibut

This dish felt “fresh,” with the fish meat incredibly tender, and the white asparagus was juicy! This Riesling I drank had a faint grassy taste, sourced from Austria's Veyder-Malberg vineyard. Since it's harvested manually, production is limited to only 1,000 cases per year.

✅Liberty Farms Sonoma Duck

The duck skin is crispy and the meat tender – its two companion sauces are absolutely wonderful.

✅Miyazaki Wagyu Striploin

Due to the delicate nature of Wagyu beef, the chef chose a full-bodied Cabernet to balance it.

Their Madeleine at the end was quite delicious too! Their address is:
